As a special 'deal' for Family History Month, FHC members can bring a friend to the Library for FREE!! Normally a visitor would be charged $10 for half a day visit, or $20 for a full day visit. Why not ask one, or more, of your friends if they would be interested. An added bonus of course would be if they decided to join FHC. At this time of the year, they would only have to pay the pro-rata subscription

As part of the month’s activities, Family History Connections is participating in the Prahran Mechanics’ Institute Historical Societies Pop-Ups. We will be there on Wednesday 22 August from 9.30am – 4.30pm.
Various Historical Societies will be visiting the PMI throughout August, including Scout Heritage Victoria, St. Kilda Historical Society, GlenEira Historical, Malvern Historical Society and Family History Connections.
You can find full details of the pop-ups at
The Prahran Mechanics’ Institute Victorian History Library is located at 39 St. Edmonds Road Prahran. It is a community owned and run Library specialising in the history of Victoria with more than 30,000 books.

We inherit from our ancestors gifts so often taken for granted. Each of us contains within this inheritance of soul. We are links between the ages, containing past and present expectations, sacred memories and future promise. – Edward Sellner
